ONLINE SEAT RESERVATION EXPERIENCE

THE BRIEF 

Aegean tasked Branchspace with designing a reservation seat experience that allows its customers to select their preferred seat, for a fee or free, before their flight. They wanted to introduce an advanced seat reservation system that offered 3 economy ‘seat’ products, Standard, Front Row and Extra Legroom, with different fees and special rates for their “Gold” tier travellers.

 

OUR APPROACH

Leveraging our deep understanding of travel retail, we focused on designing for the travellers and creating an experience that would help them understand the different seat product options, their availability and pricing. The seat products are clearly displayed above the seat map with large visuals and a layout which allows easy comparison of price and benefits.

The design was also optimised for mobile users, offering a consistent experience with the same rich functionality. Significant visual complexity is condensed on the mobile display, without losing the on-par functionality through clever interaction modes (e.g. swiping between passengers).

We used Aegean’s existing style guide throughout to ensure the experience was aligned with the rest of their booking flow.

Aegean successfully launched their advanced seat reservation program earlier this year.
